Question-answer

Think through what you want the photographs to accomplish or capture;  What outfit(s) do you want to wear;  Will you want a professional stylist?  Imagine yourself looking at the photograph 10 or 20 years from now – what do you want the photograph to capture about yourself, this chapter of your life, or this event?

The better the client understands what they want from the photoshoot and the resulting photographs, the better an experienced passionate photographer can help you achieve those goals!

I have 11 years of experience as a professional photographer.

I’ve worked with a wide range of customers and projects with a variety of needs and goals. From young professionals and artists starting out, to small business entrepreneurs working to create an online presence, and large established businesses looking to freshen up their websites and social media, as well as weddings, events, and celebrations of all sizes. For my first 4 years after University, I worked with a very prominent photographer who specialized in modeling and fashion photography.
Every project is unique in its own way and gives every project the time necessary to get it done right.
My 3-Step Process for consistently great results:

  1. Discuss the goals for the photography project so you both have a clear understanding of what
the client is looking for and how they intend to use the photos. Discover if they want any
additional arrangements that need to be made for studio time or a professional stylist.
  2. Make sure the client prepares the outfits to be worn the day before the photoshoot so there are
    no last-minute surprises.
  3. On the day of the shoot, the client needs to let go, relax, exhale and trust the photographer’s
instructions with posing and even your mental focus and emotions.

Much of the magic of photography is that the model’s emotions at the moment of the photograph are central to what the photograph captures. To create the best photographs the model and the photographer must work together to compose the right posture, with the right outfit and styling, in the right location, with the model in the right emotional state.

So, if it’s a business photoshoot it’s vital for the model to think of and feel their past successes; If it’s a personal/social media photoshoot the model must feel happy and grateful; If a celebration photoshoot the models should think of the significance of the event to their life story.

Remember – the best photoshoots don’t just capture the image of the model, but also the condition of their spirit and emotions in the instant the photograph was captured. This is why working with an experienced and passionate photographer is crucial to getting the best results!

I graduated from the University of St Peterburg with a major in Art History and graduated from the Academy of Photography at St. Peterburg with concentrations in Portrait Photography and Fashion Photography.

I like to start a project with new clients with a consultation to understand what they’re seeking, their needs, and their uses for the photos.  We discuss different options for style, locations, time, attire, touch-ups, and other factors to make sure they get the most out of the photo shoot.  I can also give recommendations for a professional hair or makeup stylists if desired.

My mother was a photography enthusiast and my passion with photography began when my parents gave me my first camera at 10 years old. I instantly fell in love with the fascinating world of photography. I went on to study Art History in college and earn a post-graduate degree in in Portrait Photography and Fashion Photography.
